Celebrating

Here's to an enchanted trip!

Our friend from Australia, Colin, Pat, Lisa, Kerry, and me with a little champagne.

Just Silliness

We were so tired by the end of the day that we'd hang out in the hotel bar and relax before bedtime.  Pat never failed to make Kerry laugh. Then the rest of us would start laughing.

I realized that I don't look cute, like Kerry, when I laugh!

(Yes, that's a mint leaf from my Mojito.)

A nice evening and a great end to a wonderful trip.

Day 11

Stratford Upon Avon

First we saw Anne Hathaway's cottage,

and then Shakespeare's birthplace.

Then we headed back to London for our last night in the UK.

Day 10

York

 England's most complete medieval city.

Castle at York

Day 9

Alnwick Castle

The exterior of Alnwick Castle was filmed for the exterior of Hogwart Castle in the Harry Potter movies.

Lisa and Kerry wore their Beatles T shirts on this day.

The grounds and castle were beautifully kept.

On the road to York we saw a section of Hadrian's Wall.

Day 8

Edinburgh Castle

The dense fog is called Scottish haar.  We were able to watch the changing of the Scottish Guard at the entrance to Edinburgh Castle.

Day 7

Saint Andrews

The golf course

 and the beach

where the running sequence from the movie Chariots of Fire was filmed.

Then on to beautiful Edinburgh,

and a Ghost Walk tour.

Edinburgh Cemetery

where we heard the wonderful story of Bobby, the only dog to be buried just outside Edinburgh Cemetery.

Bobby's master died, but Bobby refused to leave his master's grave.  Bobby was adopted by the city folk and fed until his death.

Then Bobby was buried just outside the cemetery to be close to his master.
